Friends and Partners in Serving the Transformation of Children in Houston

Mentor

For more than a decade, MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership has been working to expand the world of quality mentoring. MENTOR believes that, with the help and guidance of an adult mentor, each child can discover how to unlock and achieve his or her potential.

Prepared 4 Life

Prepared 4 Life focuses on building assets in middle-school-aged kids by integrating life skills, character education and entrepreneurship with engaging experiential, fun after-school activities.

Children at Risk (Houston)

CHILDREN AT RISK is a non-profit organization that drives change for children through research, education and influencing public policy.

Kids Hope

One child, one hour is the heart of KIDS HOPE USA. One caring adult mentoring an at-risk child one hour every week. Because when kids feel loved and valued, they are better able to learn, grow, and succeed.

National Church Adopt-A-School Initiative (NCAASI)

Churches and faith-based organizations are trained to provide mentoring, tutoring, life skills, character education, sports, recreation, and family support services to children in their community.

Youth Mentoring Publications (Public/Private Ventures)

In 1988, intrigued by the potential of mentoring, but concerned about a lack of solid information, P/PV developed an extensive mentoring research agenda. Our goal was to see whether "created" adult/youth relationships could, in fact, have positive impacts on healthy adolescent development.
