Fall/Winter 2007 Prayer Targets

Central to every unfolding story of community transformation you will find God's people uniting in focused, fervent prayer. The following are important timely prayer targets the Mission Houston staff and board would like you and members of your congregation to address through pray.

"Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain." Psalm 127:1. May the Lord fulfill His purposes across greater Houston!

Please pray for:

1. The Mission Houston staff: Steve Capper, Michael Aceves-Lewis, Marcos Leon, and Brian Gowan. Pray for God's presence, protection and favor as they lead and serve Mission Houston priorities across Houston.

2. The Mission Houston Board: Jim Herrington (Chairman), Steve Capper (Exec. Director), Kevin Barber, Jane Costello, Rick Figueroa, Paul Fury, Rachel Quan, Randy Schroeder, Leslie Smith II, Robert Westheimer, and Harry Zimmer. Pray for God's presence, protection and favor as they serve.

3. Mission Houston CSA's in several regions: For leadership recruitment and united engagement in areas specific to community coordination, prayer, compassion, congregation and marketplace networking, youth networking, church planting and evangelism.

4. The Choose the Life personal transformation conference will be held on September 13 at HBU. This conference is co-sponsored by Mission Houston, College of Biblical Studies, Houston Baptist University, Houston Graduate School of Theology, Houston Prays, Somebody Cares, The Gathering of Men, and Union Baptist Association. All of these ministries are committed to greater Houston's transformation process. Pray for Bill Hull, the Choose the Life presenter who will be calling participants to a deepened commitment to personal discipleship and transformation. Pray that the Holy Spirit would draw hundreds to the conference. Pray that God would do a deep work within all who attend.

5. Compassion projects are unfolding in CSA's across greater Houston in August and through the fall. Please pray for workers, material provisions and spiritual blessings on all laborers and school facilities. Pray for ongoing conversations by Mission Houston staff with government officials about the next united citywide compassion initiative.

6. The development of a Latino Council of advice for guidance in the Hispanic community to include "the whole Body of Christ" as vital to greater Houston's transformation process. 7. The inclusion and engagement of the Next Generation portion of the Body of Christ in CSA community transformation teams and activities.
